Permanent Makeup – Pre-Treatment Information

Consider how you want your makeup to look

  • We recommend opting for an effect that is suitable for everyday.
  • Conventional makeup can be applied if a more dramatic effect is required.
  • Bring colours you normally wear with you if you wish to replicate them.
  • If you are not sure what you need or want, we will be happy to use our experience to guide you.

Choosing the right time

  • Healing usually takes 7 days when the skin will exfoliate excess colour naturally.
  • A follow up appointment will be necessary, within 4 to 6 weeks when the same healing downtime.
  • Your skin must be healthy and in good condition.
  • Consider what you have in your diary during the healing period.
  • High intensity workouts must be avoided for a minimum of 48 hours.
  • A pigment sensitivity test will be carried out unless waived upon request.

Do not discontinue any medication without consulting your GP.

Before

  • Avoid Ibuprofen or Asprin for 48 hours before treatment. (See GP if prescribed).
  • Avoid alcohol for 48 hours prior to an appointment
  • We recommend Paracetamol or Codeine based pain killers if necessary.
  • Many clients take anti-histamine, 24 hours before procedure, to help prevent swelling.
  • Areas of infection, moles or previous skin cancers are contra indicated to this treatment.
  • Wax, bleach, tints and perms/LVL’s must be carried out at least 48 hours before your procedure.
  • Discontinue use of Retin A skincare products over the treatment area 1 month prior to and after your procedure.
  • Discontinue use of AHA skincare products over the enhancement area 2 weeks prior to and after your procedure.
  • Eat before you attend for your appointment.

After

  • Pigment will be significantly darker and more noticeable until exfoliation occurs.
  • Swelling can be expected especially for eyes and lips.
  • The area will be tender following treatment.
  • The area treated must be kept as dry as possible and protected from sun exposure until healed.
  • The aftercare product requires application until healed – as directed
  • Only the aftercare product provided and those recommended by us should touch the treated area until healed.

Eyebrow

  • Stop using hair growth stimulators (Lash/Brow Serum) for 7 days before treatment.
  • *We need to know before your appointment if you have had Botox in the last 3 months.

Eye Treatments

  • If you are fair, we recommend you have an eyelash tint 48 hours or more before your appointment.
  • Contact Lenses must be removed before treatment begins. Bring glasses to wear for the rest of the day.
  • False Eyelashes must be removed before attending an appointment.
  • Stop using hair growth stimulators (Lash/Brow Serum) for 7 days before treatment.
  • You will be able to see normally and drive yourself home immediately afterwards.
  • We need to know before your appointment if you have undergone any eye or laser eye surgery in the last 6 months.

Lips

  • If you have ever had a cold sore (Herpes Simplex) we ask that you obtain a prescription of “Aciclovir” (Zovirax Tablets) are from your GP to prevent a breakout which will be stimulated by treatment.
  • A Dental Block can be arranged at Harley Street if total anaesthesia is required.
  • Stop using lip plump products for 7 days before treatment.
  • Attend with your lips their natural colour (free from lip stain and trauma).
  • We need to know before your appointment if you have fillers of any type in your lips.

Medications

  • If you have any medical conditions or are taking medications we ask that you fill out the Client Information Form so we can ensure there are no contra indications or special considerations prior to your appointment.

Please advise us before attending if any of medical details have changed since your last visit.

All procedures require several appointments to ensure optimal results. A follow up will be scheduled 4 to 6 weeks after your initial appointment.
