How to take after care microblading

Microblading Aftercare

The care you take during the healing process influences the healed result. Disturbing the area carries a risk of infection which could lead to scarring. Allow the colour to exfoliate naturally.

On the day of treatment:

30 minutes after the treatment
2 hours after treatment
In the evening after the treatment

  • Use a drop of the PH Neutral Soap (provided in small bottle) with tepid water and cotton wool to bathe the brows.
  • Pat dry – do not rub or wipe.
  • Apply the thinnest possible layer of the PhiShield Aftercare product (provided in small tub). Use a clean cotton tip to keep the product sterile.

Morning following the treatment:

  • Bathe the area as above.
  • Apply PhiShield Aftercare as above.

Bathing prevents the wound from getting dirty and avoids excessive scab formation.  If lymph is not removed, this can cause scabs which will compromise healing.

  • Bathing is no longer necessary.
  • Apply the thinnest possible layer of the PhiShield Aftercare product 3 to 5 times a day until healing is complete, usually around day 7.

Avoid applying to the treated area for 5 days.  Makeup can be applied as normal to untreated areas.

Sun and tanning Beds
No direct exposure for seven days. We recommend using “total sun block” thereafter.

Sports/wet/damp environments
Allow healing to establish before recommencing sports or going into other wet or damp environments.

There may be some mild swelling for a few days. This is a normal part of the healing process. Ice packs and Ibuprofen post treatment can be beneficial.

This is a part of the healing process.

The pigment will appear slightly sharper and more obvious until around day 7, when exfoliation occurs and colour looks lighter and softer.

As explained, expect some unevenness of colour, which will be addressed in the inclusive re-touch appointment, to be attended 4 weeks later. If you do not attend your re-touch appointment within this time, we will assume you are happy with the results achieved. Any future bookings will be charged in line with our pricing schedule.

If you do not attend, or do not give sufficient notice (5 working days) to schedule your appointment, there will be a charge for any further treatment. Please arrive 5 minutes before your appointment to ensure we have time to complete your treatment. Lateness may result in a rescheduled appointment at your cost.

Long Term
Use a good sunscreen. Avoid the use of glycolic, Retinol or peels over the pigmented area as this will speed up the fading process. Colour Boosts are necessary anywhere between 6 and 12 months to maintain the best results.

Research shows it is safe to have an MRI if you have permanent makeup.  If you require further information please visit

If your brows look too heavy or dark immediately following treatment, remember our advice:

Your brows will initially be twice as dark and thick as the healed result in 7 days.

Do not try to lighten your brows as this will cause inflammation and/or infection.

If Inflammation or infection occurs please go immediately to your doctor.

Thank you for choosing Perfect Makeup.  We recommend you come back in 6 to 12 months to keep your eyebrows looking fabulous.

Taking care of the eyebrows after you have got them microbladed is very important. In the initial days, when the area is healing certain things have to be kept in mind.

At first the hair strokes will appear quite bold and dark, but as the area heals slowly, it will soften up and start to look natural. Flakes might also appear and it is very important to not to pick them. Also it is important to not to get waxing or plucking done prior to the appointment. The natural brow will help the technician in deciding the perfect shape for your brows.

The most important thing is to communicate with the technician. Explain him what exactly you want and ask him to explain all the things clearly. The technician is going to give you some ointment to apply which must be done as is asked.

Aftercare :

  1. Eyebrow makeup is a strict NO
  2. Do not pick at scabs if there are any
  3. Do not itch the area
  4. No sunbathing till the time the area is healing
  5. Do not get the brow area soaked in water

If the eyebrows get soaked in water, wipe it away using a cotton pad or a tissue. Also some swelling might show up which is perfectly normal. The area might itch and may appear red. But what one must keep in mind is not to scratch it. Getting it retouched depends upon you. You need to talk to your technician regarding it. Some people get it done every year and some do it witha gap of 2 years.

It is also to be kept in mind to not get hair stroke eyebrows done if you are pregnant or have diabetes. Caffeine and alcohol should be avoided in the days leading up to the appointment which would minimise and bleeding after the procedure.

Oily skin also makes it difficult for microblading. One must also keep in mind that these are semi permanent eyebrows and the results will only last for a maximum of 4 years. Not taking proper care of the eyebrows after the process might just ruin your entire dream of getting those perfect brows which you wish to achieve.

These semi permanent eyebrows require minimum care and thus is being opted by a lot of women these days. And it is quite obvious. These days when you see models walking on the ramp with those perfect on fleek eyebrows, you ought to feel bad for your untamed and thin eyebrows.

Also one must keep in mind that the results are not seen right after the first session. Also after it is done, the technician would be calling you again after a month for a touch up. Because after a month the healing process is complete and thus the technician would be able to see and judge if any touch up is required.

Healing process is different for every client. For some it might heal in 3 weeks whereas some take about 5-6 weeks to heal. It is also very important to protect your skin from the sun till the healing process is complete.
